Character Inspiration

I knew straight away that when I was designing a character that was supposed to be like me, I wanted her to have some of the characteristics of Dee Dee from Dexter's Lab. She's my favourite female animated character in anything I've ever watched. I don't know how to explain why, I just love her clumsy, over the top attitude towards everything and I think that shes a great inspiration for developing my own character.

Whenever I think of her, I think of a part where she says; 'Suit up? SUIT UP' (couldn't find a clip, gutted) and it zooms right into her face where you can see the amount of expression on her face and I think thats a prime and great example of showing her over-the-topness. There's a part in my animation where it will be an extreme close up to my characters face as a kind of tribute to Dee Dee's character.

I'm also a big fan of Anime style characters and I particularly like the simplicity of 'Chibi' characters. I am a keen Chibi-style character designer so some features will probably show through on my character design for my animation.
