Here is my finished piece for the Applied Animation part of the brief.
I used the traditional hand-drawn method of animation to create this and I'm really glad I did. As time consuming as it was I enjoyed drawing every frame with the aid of a lighbox and I think seeing the final outcome is really rewarding.
The only part I didn't really like was inking the whole thing after I'd drawn it all (at one point I felt like if I had to draw one more 72 bus I was going to throw myself in front of one).

I look like I'm having fun inking - I'm not. |
Once they'd all been scanned, I opened the image in QuickTime player at both 12fps and 6fps. The 12fps looked OK but the 6fps flowed more smoothly in my opinion. From there, I began duplicating and adding some more frames in to make it a little longer and now I think it flows great. At 20 seconds, its a little longer than the brief asked for (I understand that in industry I'd have to shorten it).

Adding music in iMovie |
Once I had my .mov file from QuickTime, I opened it into iMovie to add my music and a filter to cancel out the yellowness of the paper.

Changing the video's effect in iMovie |
Overall, I think it's turned out well for a first try. I really enjoyed doing it and hope to improve my traditional animation skills further.
