OUAN406 - Applied Animation - A Tale In The Sting - Discovery References

Since this is my first time at attempting a walk cycle I thought I'd need as much reference as possible to help me along with it.
I tried thinking of some animations with pandas in them and the first one I thought of was Kung Fu Panda. After looking at some clips of the film I realised that this definitely wasn't what I was after. I didn't want the panda in my animatic to be personified at all, and the less cartoony the better (to fit in with the feel of the Discovery Channel).
However, some parts of this clip from Kung Fu Panda do have some nice qualities of walk cycles in it (for example; the parts where Po is young, shows how perhaps a baby panda would try and get about).

Moving away from this, I looked for videos on live pandas to see how they move about.

This video in particular was very helpful. It shows how the panda has quite heavy movements while it walks and it seems to have its head down while its moving.

I also looked at panda habitats to give me some ideas for drawing my backgrounds. These in particular look manmade but the huge draping trees and stream will give me some good ideas.
