Lotso is my favourite character from any of the Toy Story films.
Again, kudos to Pixar on the detail of him. In my opinion, they absolutely managed to make him look real. The persona that they've given him at the start as a sweet and caring old man is really believable with the expressions he has on his face. As I hadn't seen any trailers for the film before I watched it, I was genuinely surprised that he turned out to be evil!
However, this hasn't stopped sales of toys at all. Because of his cute exterior, kids globally wanted one for themselves (me included, I have a life sized Lotso!).
I know it goes without saying when it comes to Pixar's characters, but the attention to detail on Lotso is really something else.
Much like Sulley, a lot of attention to detail has gone into his fur and the way the light reflects on it alls adds to the realistic effect.
This was the defining moment when Lotso turned and I think it's fantastic. You can really feel the emotion in him and personally, I think you can also feel him turning evil. That just shows great character development. To make the viewer feel the emotions the character is feeling is what any animator strives to do, and I think it's a goal that is very hard to reach. I love Pixar. I love Lotso.
